Presentation abstract: Reading Borough Council have been interested in Fusion Applications and the value it could deliver them since before it was released and took an active part in system validation with development. We saw the value in moving our financials and procurement to Fusion based on the superior user experience. This is not a co-existence model, it is a replacement of EBS. This presentation looks at the journey for Reading and how we made our assessment and decisions around Fusion Applications and the journey to go-live.

Speaker biography: Julie Stringfellow is the Financial Systems Manager at Reading Borough Council. She has worked in systems at Reading for 16 years and at Oxfordshire County Council before that. She is responsible for the day to day support, management and development of the financial systems at Reading and this includes Oracle Financials. Her first project after joining Reading involved selecting and implementing a new financial system. Since then she has projected managed an upgrade to 11i and implemented Hyperion Planning and Budgeting. Her key criteria in selecting, implementing and upgrading systems are cost of ownership, value to the organisation and ease of use for end users.
